Lincoln Man Sentenced for Child Porn Distribution

Charles LeRoy Walker, 54, once a resident of Lincoln, Nebraska, is facing a decade behind bars for his despicable distribution of child pornography. United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg made the chilling announcement that Walker has been sentenced by United States District Judge John M. Gerrard to serve 70 months in federal prison.

The Lincoln Police Department’s investigation into a computer sharing files identified as child pornography led them directly to Walker. A search warrant executed at his residence uncovered more than 20,000 files and several hundred videos linked to the exploitation of children. The disturbing discovery was met with swift action, and Walker was taken into custody.

Project Safe Childhood, the Department of Justice’s nationwide initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation, played a pivotal role in bringing this case to justice. The program has been instrumental in locating, apprehending, and prosecuting individuals like Walker who prey on the innocence of children.

After his release from prison, Walker will be required to serve five years of supervised release and register as a sex offender—a permanent mark on his record. The severity of his sentence sends a stark reminder that there is no tolerance for those who exploit the most vulnerable among us.
