Jamestown Brothers Face Decade in Meth Conspiracy

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Two Jamestown, New York brothers are staring down serious federal time after a grand jury slapped them with narcotics charges, Acting U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. announced today. Matthew S. Jones, 30, and Beau K.C. Jones, 32, are accused of running a meth operation that brought more than a half-pound of the drug into the small upstate city.

The indictment details a conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of methamphetamine, alongside charges of possession with intent to distribute and maintaining a drug-involved premises. If convicted, each brother faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a hefty $10,000,000 fine. This isn’t a slap on the wrist; it’s a potential life-altering sentence.

The bust went down December 1, 2016, when a package containing over 360 grams of methamphetamine was delivered to Beau K.C. Jones’ residence at 70 Colfax in Jamestown. Cops weren’t far behind. During a traffic stop shortly after the delivery, officers discovered the parcel in the backseat of his vehicle. Matthew S. Jones wasn’t far off either, getting nabbed in a separate car stop later the same day.

But the haul didn’t stop at 360 grams. A search of Matthew S. Jones’ vehicle revealed a safe stashed in the trunk, containing an additional 80 grams of methamphetamine. That’s nearly 440 grams of pure poison the Jones brothers allegedly intended to push onto the streets of Jamestown. Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Higgins is prosecuting the case.

Both defendants were arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder and are currently being held without bail. The investigation, a joint effort by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge James J. Hunt, and the Jamestown Police Department, led by Chief Harry Snellings, shows a clear coordinated effort to dismantle this operation.

It’s crucial to remember: an indictment is not a conviction. The Jones brothers are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. But with the evidence laid out, and the potential penalties looming, this case is far from over. Grimy Times will continue to follow this story as it develops.
