Pittsburgh Man Admits to Sex Trafficking Crimes

PITTSBURGH – A former Alabama resident has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking crimes in western Pennsylvania, marking the first conviction of its kind in the region.

Anthony Juskowich, 23, who was residing in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood at the time of the crime, pleaded guilty to two counts of sex trafficking in federal court on January 28, 2022, before United States District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand.

The crimes, which occurred from January 2020 through May 2020, involved the sex trafficking of an adult female, A.H., using force, threats of force, fraud or coercion to cause her to engage in commercial sex acts.

Juskowich, who was arrested on May 14, 2020, by the Pittsburgh Police, told investigators that A.H. engaged in sex work for money and that he drove her from hotel to hotel, keeping the money she made in a safe at their apartment.

Juskowich also boasted about his lucrative sex trafficking operation, claiming that A.H. made $10,000 a month working for him and that he had purchased a $700 Louis Vuitton belt with the money she earned.

Text messages between Juskowich and A.H. revealed ongoing sex trafficking, with Juskowich setting weekly quotas and threatening to cut off her earnings if she didn’t meet them.

Juskowich was charged with

Conspiracy to Commit Sex Trafficking (18 U.S.C. § 1591(a)(1))

Attempted Sex Trafficking (18 U.S.C. § 1591(a)(1))

Juskowich faces a sentence of not less than 15 years in prison and a fine of not more than $250,000. His sentencing is scheduled for June 2, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.

Pending sentencing, the Court ordered Juskowich to remain detained.

Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Sil is prosecuting the case.
