Canton Man Charged in Bank Heist
A brazen bank robbery in Canton has landed a local man in hot water. On May 28, 2015, Tyrauli Ramon Cutler, 33, allegedly robbed the Citizens Bank located at 3528 Tuscarawas Street, West, Canton, Ohio.
According to US Attorney Steven M. Dettelbach, a federal grand jury returned a one-count indictment charging Cutler with bank robbery.
The indictment alleges that Cutler, a Canton resident, stormed the Citizens Bank, making off with an unspecified amount of cash. The FBI’s Canton Office and the Canton Police Department investigated the crime.
Assistant US Attorney Linda H. Barr will prosecute the case. If convicted, Cutler faces a sentence determined by the court, taking into account his prior criminal history, role in the offense, and other factors.
The indictment is merely an accusation, and Cutler is entitled to a fair trial. It will be up to the government to prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
Cutler is not the first suspect to be charged in a high-profile bank robbery in recent years. However, the case is still in its early stages, and Cutler has not yet entered a plea. His attorney could not be reached for comment.
The Citizens Bank robbery is a reminder that bank robberies can have serious consequences for those involved. In addition to the potential for lengthy prison sentences, bank robbers can also face fines and restitution.
