A 41-year-old Portland man, Walter Sebaste, has been sentenced to 51 months in federal prison for possessing over 1000 images of child sexual abuse material. The sentencing comes after an FBI investigation, which led to the seizure of Sebaste’s electronic devices on September 19, 2025. Sebaste pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material on April 30, 2026. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kate Rochat.
The FBI searched Sebaste’s residence in Portland and found the disturbing images, leading to a federal grand jury indictment on February 19, 2025. U.S. Attorney Scott E. Bradford stated that crimes against children are a priority, and the sentence reflects the serious harm caused by such crimes.
