A 21-year-old North Carolina man has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for producing and distributing child pornography.
Brian Hughes flew from North Carolina to Arkansas in April 2025, where he picked up a 15-year-old girl near her school and raped her at a hotel. He then produced explicit images and videos of the act and distributed them online.
During a search of Hughes’s phone, investigators found numerous child pornography files, including some of children as young as 4. They also discovered chats in which Hughes traded child pornography files with other online users.
Hughes was indicted by a Grand Jury in the Western District of Arkansas in April 2025 and pleaded guilty in November 2025. He was sentenced on May 12, 2026.
