Coalton Man Sentenced for C4 Possession
A Randolph County man has been sentenced to 49 months incarceration for possessing an illegal explosive material, authorities announced today. Brian Scott Mayle, 40, of Coalton, West Virginia, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey.
In a shocking turn of events, Mayle, who is not a licensee or permittee, received and transported C4 explosive material in Randolph County in July 2016. His actions did not go unnoticed, and in January 2017, Mayle pled guilty to one count of “Receipt and Transfer of Explosive Material without a License.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephen D. Warner prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force investigated, uncovering the details of Mayle’s illicit activities.
