Defendant Charged with Sexual Exploitation of Minor

United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jay Clayton, and Assistant Director in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Christopher G. Raia, announced the unsealing of a Complaint charging DANIEL ALAN MONARCHI with the sexual exploitation of a minor.

MONARCHI was arrested and presented before U.S. Magistrate Judge Andrew E. Krause in White Plains federal court and detained on Friday, August 22, 2025.

According to the Complaint filed on August 19, 2025, MONARCHI worked as a special education teacher for a middle school in Dutchess County.

In September 2024, Victim-1, who was 14 years old, was contacted by a Discord account with the name “mrteacherman.” MONARCHI allegedly engaged in sexual conversations with Victim-1 over the course of a month, asking her to send him sexually explicit videos and referring to her as his “after school snack.”

Victim-2, who was 13 years old, was also contacted by MONARCHI on Discord in February 2025. MONARCHI allegedly sent Victim-2 photos of his penis and videos of him masturbating.

MONARCHI’s name appears on the publicly accessible website for the school where he worked. The photo that MONARCHI sent to Victim-2 includes an image of the exterior of the middle school building.

The FBI will continue to bring to justice any individual who endangers minor victims with sexually explicit behavior and actions.

“Sexual exploitation of children is too prevalent in our society,” said U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton. “Parents, caregivers, and teachers: if you sense something wrong, please seek assistance. Sexual exploitation of children by teachers and others we entrust must be stopped.”

MONARCHI’s bail has been set at $100,000, and he is scheduled to appear in court on September 2, 2025.
