Child Exploitation Charges in Fort Wayne, Indiana

Fort Wayne, Indiana – A 24-year-old man from Fairmount is facing serious child exploitation charges after a federal grand jury indicted him on two counts of receiving and possessing illicit materials involving minors.

Daniel Perry, 24, is accused of receiving material involving the sexual exploitation of minors on June 11, 2012, and knowingly possessing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on January 24, 2013.

The indictment, handed down on November 20, 2013, also seeks the forfeiture of computers and hard drives. The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Fort Wayne Police Department.

This case has been assigned to Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery, who will prosecute the case in court.

The United States Attorney’s Office emphasized that an indictment is merely an allegation and that all persons charged are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.

According to federal sentencing guidelines, the specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the judge after a consideration of federal sentencing statutes.

Perry’s case is a stark reminder of the growing concern of child exploitation and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
