Royce Cobb, Cocaine Trafficking, Georgia 2023

ATLANTA – Royce Cobb, a/k/a ‘Rapp,’ 47, of Atlanta, Georgia, has been handed a 23-year sentence for cocaine trafficking and illegal possession of a loaded semiautomatic firearm. A career criminal with multiple convictions, Cobb was caught distributing dangerous drugs from an Atlanta stash house.

Cobb’s conviction followed a DEA investigation that began in 2022, when the agency monitored his drug operations. Agents seized over 17.6 kilograms of cocaine hidden under a tow truck’s bed and 22 kilograms in an associate’s vehicle in South Carolina.

In July 2023, agents executed a search warrant at Cobb’s primary stash house, recovering counterfeit pills with fentanyl and methamphetamine, marijuana, a loaded firearm, ammunition for two other firearms, money counters, and a pill counter. More than $250,000 was seized from the two locations.

Acting DEA Special Agent in Charge Jae W. Chung emphasized the agency’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks and protecting communities. ‘When we team our resources with local and federal partners, gang members better beware,’ he said.

U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg highlighted the impact of Cobb’s actions: ‘More than a decade behind bars failed to deter Cobb from trafficking drugs while armed. Thankfully, the DEA’s investigation halted his illicit activity.’

Cobb was sentenced by United States District Judge J.P. Boulee and will also serve 10 years of supervised release. The case was investigated by the DEA, Atlanta-Carolinas HIDTA, Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, Suwanee Police Department, and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
