An 18-year-old Eugene man is facing federal charges for his part in a violent riot on January 30, 2026, that left federal employees trapped inside a building.
Soren Emery Polzin allegedly smashed the lobby window of the Eugene federal building with his lower body, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
According to court documents, Polzin was part of a group that damaged the exterior windows and doors of the building, attempting to gain access to the interior.
Federal employees inside the building were terrified as the rioters pounded on the windows and doors.
Polzin made his first appearance in federal court and was released pending further court proceedings.
