A 27-year-old North Carolina inmate allegedly smuggled a cell phone and a six-inch sharpened plastic weapon into FCI Schuylkill in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania, on January 10, 2026.
Antwan Edward Johnson Jr., who is currently behind bars, was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 28, 2026. The FBI and the Federal Bureau of Prisons investigated the case.
Johnson faces a maximum penalty of six years in prison, a term of supervised release, and a fine. The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced the charges.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah R. Lloyd is prosecuting the case. Johnson’s guilt has not been proven and he is presumed innocent until found guilty in court.
