Fort Smith Trio Sentenced to Over 38 Years in Prison for Firearm Possession
A trio of felons has been sentenced to a combined total of over 38 years in federal prison for possessing firearms in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Charlene M. Elmore, 26, was sentenced to 92 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Elmore was a parolee with an active absconder warrant issued by the Arkansas Parole Board due to her absconding from parole supervision on or about July 31, 2020.
Frankie Leon Hunter, 29, was sentenced on July 21, 2021, to 192 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Hunter was also a parolee.
Jeremy Robinson, 29, another parolee living at the residence, was sentenced on June 10, 2021, to 180 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The trio was arrested on November 9, 2020, after members of the 12th/21st Drug Task Force received information that they possessed numerous firearms that were suspected to have been stolen. When officers arrived at their residence, they found 18 firearms, including six that had been reported stolen in Roland, Oklahoma.
The case was investigated by the 12th/21st Drug Task Force and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyra Jenner as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime in communities. Acting U.S. Attorney David Clay Fowlkes made the announcement.
The sentencing was presided over by the Honorable Judge P.K. Holmes III in the United States District Court in Fort Smith.
