Delaquan Antonio Myers, a 37-year-old Ohio man, pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute over 40 grams of fentanyl in West Virginia. The crime went down on April 7, 2022, when Myers agreed to deliver approximately 400 grams of the deadly opioid to a buyer in Raleigh County, WV. Instead of making the delivery himself, Myers had the buyer send someone to meet him in Dayton, Ohio, where two undercover law enforcement officers obtained the fentanyl.
Myers, also known as ‘Chase,’ now faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 40 years in prison, plus at least four years of supervised release and a fine of up to $5 million. His sentencing is set for December 4, 2026.
The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit. United States Attorney Moore Capito announced the guilty plea, which was accepted by United States Magistrate Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn.
Assistant United States Attorney Lesley C. Shamblin and former Assistant United States Attorney Andrew D. Isabell prosecuted the case. The conviction is a significant win in the fight against the opioid epidemic, which has ravaged communities across West Virginia and the nation.
