A Lexington Park felon, Paul Dewayne Dorsey, 46, has been indicted for distributing fentanyl and selling firearms across multiple counties in Maryland. The alleged crimes took place between November 2025 and May 2026. Dorsey is accused of selling 40 grams or more of fentanyl to an undercover officer on eight separate occasions, with three of those occasions also involving the sale of one or more firearms. As a previously convicted felon, Dorsey is prohibited from possessing firearms.
The indictment, announced by the US Attorney’s Office, charges Dorsey with distribution of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. The charges are the result of a federal drug-and-firearms investigation involving the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Maryland State Police (MSP), and the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
If convicted, Dorsey faces a mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of up to 40 years in prison for distributing 40 grams or more of fentanyl. He also faces a mandatory minimum of five years, consecutive to all other charges, and a maximum of up to life for possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Additionally, Dorsey could receive up to 15 years for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person.
