A husband and wife duo from Massachusetts and their Puerto Rico associate are facing federal charges for smuggling firearms to the island through the US Postal Service.
According to a federal indictment, Erick Osorio-Rivera and his wife Bianca Vidal Vázquez-Millán bought guns in Massachusetts and used the Priority Mail service to send them to Puerto Rico.
Jose M. Ayala-Rivera, the Puerto Rico associate, would receive the guns in the island and store them in a residence.
The alleged gunrunning scheme lasted from an unknown date in October 2024 to August 2025.
Each defendant faces up to 5 years in prison if convicted of conspiracy to receive firearms from out of state, transfer firearms out of state, and sending firearms via a common carrier without written notice.
