Blake D. Smith, Fentanyl Trafficking and Hobbs Act Robbery, New York 2023

⏱ 3 min read

In a deadly game of supply and demand, two Jamestown men have been slapped with a superseding indictment for conspiring to sell fentanyl, Hobbs Act robbery, and kidnapping. Blake D. Smith, 50, and Willie Graham, 45, allegedly peddled the synthetic opioid between February 2017 and January 2024.

The indictment alleges the duo, along with an accomplice, Joseph S. Zaso, trafficked heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine in the Jamestown area. Smith, aka ‘Sweets,’ was caught with a firearm during the conspiracy.

On May 9-11, 2023, Smith sold fentanyl to individuals identified as R.P. and D.C., causing serious bodily injury. In another brazen move, Smith and Graham kidnapped a victim, D.D., on March 8-9, 2023, and robbed a $25,000 check from them, brandishing a firearm in the process.

The superseding indictment is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to combat cartels and transnational criminal organizations. The investigation was led by the Jamestown Police Department and the DEA.
