In a shocking turn of events, Jeffrey Snyder, a 47-year-old man from Middleburg, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 188 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. This egregious crime highlights the ongoing struggle with substance abuse in our communities.
According to Acting United States Attorney John Gurganus, Snyder led Pennsylvania State Police officers on a high-speed chase through Union and Snyder counties on April 8, 2024, at a staggering 90 miles per hour. When Snyder was finally apprehended, he was found to be in possession of approximately 376 grams of methamphetamine, $1,390.40 in cash, driving a stolen vehicle, and had a loaded, stolen revolver in the driver’s side door.
This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in our neighborhoods. The program focuses on fostering trust and legitimacy in our communities, supporting community-based organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring the results.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Robin Zenzinger prosecuted the case. Snyder previously pleaded guilty on March 6, 2025, and has now been held accountable for his actions.
The sentencing of Snyder serves as a reminder of the severe consequences that come with engaging in illicit activities. As we work to create safer communities, it is essential that we hold individuals accountable for their actions.
