Poca Man Guilty of Child Pornography

A Poca man has pleaded guilty to transporting child pornography in West Virginia.

Keegan Shane Stanley, 31, uploaded videos of child pornography to Dropbox, an online file sharing website, according to court documents and statements made in court.

A search of his residence revealed over 1,600 images of child pornography, federal authorities announced.

Stanley is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16, 2022 and faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in prison.

United States Attorney Will Thompson commended the investigative work of the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department in the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Julie White is prosecuting the case before United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers.

This case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute those who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.

Stanley’s guilty plea marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against child exploitation in West Virginia.
