Matthew Perry, Homicide, California 2023

⏱ 3 min read

A brutal North Hollywood-based drug empire came crashing down today, as the architect of its ketamine trade was sentenced to 15 years in prison. Jasveen Sangha, 42, aka the ‘Ketamine Queen,’ was found guilty of peddling the deadly synthetic to high-profile Hollywood clients, including actor Matthew Perry, whose overdose death in 2023 she directly contributed to.

Prosecutors revealed that Sangha, a dual citizen of the US and UK, ran a lucrative operation from her North Hollywood residence, touting herself as an exclusive dealer catering to A-list clientele. But behind the glamour, her clients were dying – at least two of them, including Perry, after being injected with Sangha’s ketamine.

Matthew Perry, a struggling actor and author, was given 51 vials of ketamine by Sangha’s accomplice, Erik Fleming, in October 2023. His live-in assistant repeatedly injected him with the substance, leading to Perry’s tragic death on October 28, 2023. In a chilling display of callousness, Sangha and Fleming attempted to cover their tracks by deleting Signal app messages after learning of Perry’s death.

Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett handed down the 15-year sentence, condemning Sangha’s reckless disregard for human life. ‘For years, Sangha operated a high-volume drug trafficking business out of her North Hollywood residence, cultivating her business by marketing herself as an exclusive dealer who catered to high-profile Hollywood clientele,’ prosecutors said.

Sangha, in custody since August 2024, has been stripped of her freedom and her lucrative empire. But the question remains – how many more lives were lost to her deadly trade?
