MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Marcus Edward Lee, a 33-year-old resident of McAlester, Oklahoma, has been sentenced to 72 months in prison for Possession of Certain Material Involving the Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. The charge stems from an FBI investigation that revealed Lee’s possession of visual depictions of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
On May 20, 2024, federal agents searched Lee’s McAlester residence as part of a prolonged probe into online sharing of child sexual abuse images. They seized two cell phones containing nearly 600 images and video depicting the sexual exploitation of children between the ages of three and thirteen. Lee pleaded guilty on January 13, 2025.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project leverages federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children. The Honorable Ronald A. White presided over Lee’s hearing in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Lee will remain in U.S. Marshals Service custody pending transport to a federal prison facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
