Aaron Lynn Parks, Meth Possession with Intent to Distribute, Arkansas 2024

⏱ 3 min read

Aaron Lynn Parks, a 43-year-old career offender from Morrilton, Arkansas, was caught red-handed with over 400 grams of methamphetamine after a high-speed chase through the woods. The meth kingpin fled from police, but a bag he tossed contained the evidence that sealed his fate.

Parks, who previously served a 71-month federal prison sentence for distribution of methamphetamine, was still on supervised release when he committed the new offense. On July 11, 2024, law enforcement officers on patrol stopped a vehicle without insurance, and the driver, later identified as Parks, fled the scene.

Officers secured a bag that Parks tossed, which contained 443.7 grams of methamphetamine. The vehicle was parked at an impound lot and remained unclaimed. Inside the vehicle, officers found two cell phones, one of which was used by Parks to communicate with his distribution network.

Parks pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more, but less than 500 grams, of methamphetamine. United States District Judge Brian S. Miller handed down a 156-month sentence, or 13 years, and five years’ supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
