Meth Trafficker Gets 3 Years of Probation
A Marshall County woman has been sentenced to three years of probation for her role in a methamphetamine trafficking operation. Dannielle L. Young, 32, of Moundsville, West Virginia, pleaded guilty in January 2021 to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Young worked with others to distribute methamphetamine from August 2019 to August 2020 in Marshall County and elsewhere. She admitted to her involvement in the operation during her guilty plea.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The investigation was conducted by the Marshall County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
U.S. District Judge John Preston Bailey presided over the sentencing hearing. Young’s sentence includes three years of probation, marking a significant outcome for a crime that carries severe penalties.
The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing threat of methamphetamine trafficking in the region. The Marshall County Drug Task Force and other law enforcement agencies continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these operations.
