Steven Jamar Alexander, Fentanyl Sales, West Virginia 2024

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Gritty Kanawha County resident Steven Jamar Alexander, alias ‘Dook,’ 39, from Nitro, has entered a guilty plea for the sale of fentanyl, marking another stark chapter in West Virginia’s relentless battle against drug trafficking.

According to court documents and statements, Alexander sold approximately 20 grams of the potent opioid on two occasions in March 2025, each time to an informant in St. Albans. This conviction comes with a heavy price tag: Alexander faces up to 30 years in federal prison, six years of supervised release, and a $2 million fine.

A previous offender, Alexander was convicted of drug trafficking for methamphetamine distribution back in May 2019. He was released from prison within 15 years of the current offense’s commission, further complicating his case.

The investigation that led to Alexander’s plea also resulted in the indictment of 13 other alleged drug traffickers operating in the Charleston area between June 2024 and May 2025. Rafael Cee-Erwin Solomon, known as ‘Rip,’ pleaded guilty to three counts of fentanyl distribution on June 30, 2025, with sentencing set for October 9.

Lisa G. Johnston, Acting United States Attorney, announced the charges, praising the efforts of the FBI and the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team (MDENT) for their relentless pursuit of justice. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeremy B. Wolfe will lead the prosecution.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative targeting organized crime and drug trafficking across the nation.
