Jesse Lee Fish, Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, Oklahoma 2023

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – Jesse Lee Fish, a 34-year-old resident of Muskogee, was handed a 46-month sentence for illegal firearm possession. This sentence comes after Fish pleaded guilty to Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

The charges stem from an investigation led by the Muskogee Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. On October 31, 2023, Fish admitted to knowingly possessing a rifle and ammunition, a violation following his prior conviction for a crime with a prison term exceeding one year.

During the sentencing hearing, which was presided over by Chief Judge Ronald A. White of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Fish was ordered to remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal until transportation to a federal correctional facility. His sentence is non-paroleable.

Assistant United States Attorney Edith Singer represented the government in this case. The Muskogee Police Department’s diligent work, along with the ATF, has once again resulted in the removal of a dangerous weapon from circulation.

Jesse Lee Fish’s illegal possession of a firearm is a stark reminder of the ongoing threat posed by individuals who misuse firearms after release from previous criminal sentences. His sentence underscores the commitment of federal law enforcement to public safety and the strict enforcement of gun laws.

This case serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts of local and federal agencies in ensuring justice for all, no matter how heinous the crime or the lengths required to bring the perpetrator to justice.
