KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The gritty streets of Kansas City were rocked by a new case of illegal firearm possession as Malik Holman, 27, faced serious charges this week.
Holman, who had recently met with his parole officer, was observed by the Kansas City Missouri Police Department detectives in possession of a handgun on September 4, 2025. The parolee’s encounter with law enforcement ended with his arrest and a single count indictment for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
This charge replaces a federal criminal complaint filed on Sept. 5, 2025, bringing the total number of counts against Holman to one. With a prior felony conviction for robbery, Holman’s illegal firearm possession is a serious offense under federal law, which strictly prohibits felons from owning or carrying firearms.
The Assistant U.S. Attorney Heather Siegele is leading the prosecution in this case, which was investigated by both the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). This operation is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to crack down on illegal immigration, eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect communities from violent crime.
