A nasty discovery at a Red Lodge home led to a shocking arrest. Jeremy Dean Ruby, 50, had been under investigation for drug trafficking when cops found child porn on his phone.
From July 2024 to March 2025, law enforcement gathered evidence linking Ruby to narcotics distribution. A search warrant on March 20, 2025, uncovered the disturbing images and videos.
Ruby’s phone contained hundreds of images and videos depicting children as young as two and 12 years old in sexually explicit conduct. The sick search terms on his phone included peer-to-peer applications.
The FBI and Red Lodge Police Department led the investigation, which was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sex exploitation.
Ruby’s sentencing is set for August 26, 2026, and he faces 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and five to life of supervised release.
