Tennessee Man Guilty of Sex Exploiting Minor in PA

A disturbing case of child exploitation has come to light in western Pennsylvania, with a Tennessee resident pleading guilty to coercing a minor into producing explicit content.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Terron Slatton, a 26-year-old resident of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of sexual exploitation of a minor, Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced today.

According to the indictment, Slatton used the internet to induce a minor residing in the Western District of Pennsylvania to produce a visual depiction of the minor engaging in sexual activity. The Court was further advised that Slatton discussed meeting the minor to have sex.

Coercion and enticement of a minor is a serious crime, and Slatton faces severe consequences for his actions. Judge Arthur J. Schwab scheduled Slatton’s sentencing for November 18, 2025, with a possible sentence of not less than 10 years and up to life in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both.

The investigation was led by Homeland Security Investigations-Pittsburgh and the Pennsylvania State Police, with Assistant United States Attorney V. Joseph Sonson prosecuting on behalf of the government.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project aims to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children and to identify and rescue victims.
