Juan Carlos Hernandez, Re-Entry into US, California 2023

⏱ 2 min read

A twice-deported El Salvadoran national is behind bars after being caught sneaking back into the United States. Jose Adilio Anaya-Alas, 36, was removed from the country not once, but twice, in 2015. The first deportation came on September 16, with the second on November 19.

But Anaya-Alas apparently didn’t get the message. He was picked up in Jacksonville, Florida, on March 25, 2026, and arrested by federal authorities. Records show he never sought permission to re-enter the US after his previous removals.

As part of Operation Take Back America, the US Department of Justice is cracking down on illegal immigration, cartels, and transnational criminal organizations. If convicted, Anaya-Alas faces up to two years in federal prison and subsequent deportation.
