Lincoln Man Sentenced for Possessing Child Pornography
Lincoln, Nebraska – In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Will H. Quick, 62, of Lincoln, Nebraska, was sentenced to 63 months in prison for possessing child pornography.
According to the investigation, Quick was identified as possessing over 10,000 images and videos of child pornography. The Lincoln Police Department was able to identify Quick’s IP address as sharing child pornography files via the internet.
On May 19th, 2014, investigators executed a search warrant at Quick’s residence and found numerous files depicting females under the age of 18 years old posing in sexually explicit positions. Quick admitted to using file sharing software on his computer to file share.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the federal government to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The initiative marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who sexually exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims.
Quick will also be on supervised release for 8 years after serving his prison sentence and will be required to register as a sex offender once released.
The investigation was led by the Lincoln Police Department, and this case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting our children from exploitation.
