Chester Lee Holloway, a 35-year-old Cincinnati man, was caught with a loaded firearm and 119.1 grams of marijuana during a traffic stop in Covington, Kentucky. The stop was made by law enforcement, who detected the odor of marijuana, leading to the discovery of the firearm and drugs. Holloway, a felon, admitted to knowing he was prohibited from possessing a firearm. The incident occurred when Holloway was driving in Covington, and he was sentenced on Friday to 127 months in prison.
Holloway’s plea agreement revealed that he was previously convicted of aggravated trafficking in drugs, among other crimes. The investigation was conducted by the ATF and Covington Police Department, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle Winslow prosecuted the case.
At sentencing, Chief U.S. District Judge David Bunning found that Holloway possessed the firearm in connection with another felony offense, namely, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute it. Under federal law, Holloway must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence. Upon his release from prison, he will be under the supervision of the U.S. Probation Office for 3 years.
The sentence was announced by Jason Parman, First Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; John Nokes, Special Agent in Charge, ATF, Louisville Field Division; and Chief Justin Wietholter, Covington Police Department.
