A 57-year-old Iowa man’s dark web of depravity has been exposed. Scott Devries, from Hardy, Iowa, pleaded guilty to possessing nearly a million images of child pornography in federal court in Sioux City on April 20, 2026.
Between January 2021 and August 2022, Devries downloaded and stored the vile content on 20 electronic devices, including images that portrayed sadistic or masochistic conduct, infants, and toddlers.
A search warrant executed by law enforcement in 2022 uncovered the shocking extent of Devries’ collection, which included almost one million images of child pornography.
Devries faces a possible maximum sentence of 20 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and at least five years of supervised release following any imprisonment.
The case was brought under Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
