A high-speed car chase through Montana’s rural roads ended with a 30-year-old Mexican man, Juan Abraham Carranco-Carranco, behind bars for reentering the US illegally.
On February 23, 2026, Border Patrol agents in Hinsdale, Montana, tried to pull over a Chevy Traverse with Texas plates after receiving a tip about a possible alien on board.
But the driver floored it, accelerating to 100 miles per hour and forcing agents to alert nearby law enforcement agencies.
Eventually, the vehicle was stopped near Oswego, Montana, and Carranco-Carranco was detained as the passenger.
Records showed Carranco-Carranco was first removed from the US in 2015 and had never obtained permission to reenter.
