A Charlotte County high school coach and physical education teacher has been locked up for 60 years for the sickening abuse of two underage girls. Dagoberto Miguel Pena, 37, of Punta Gorda, Florida, used and coerced the minors to produce explicit images and videos of their abuse between October 2024 and February 2026.
A parent discovered Pena’s twisted communications with a minor in April 2025, sparking an investigation that found a trove of disturbing digital evidence, including images he received and took himself.
The FBI and local authorities shut down Pena’s operations, and he pleaded guilty on January 23, 2026. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the sentence.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sex abuse.
