Oahu Man Sentenced to 170 Months for Methamphetamine Distribution
HONOLULU – In a stark reminder of the harsh consequences of trafficking narcotics, Ryan ‘Junior’ Guzman, 40, of Honolulu, Hawaii, was sentenced to 170 months in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine.
On March 13, 2023, Guzman distributed one pound of methamphetamine to a third party in the Magic Island parking lot in downtown Honolulu. This brazen act of drug dealing caught the attention of law enforcement, leading to Guzman’s subsequent arrest and prosecution.
As part of his prior guilty plea, Guzman admitted to not only distributing the methamphetamine but also possessing a privately made firearm, known as a ‘ghost gun,’ loaded with 15 hollow point rounds in June 2024. It is alleged that Guzman possessed this firearm in connection with his methamphetamine trafficking activities.
The case against Guzman was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and Honolulu Police Department, a testament to the interagency cooperation that is critical in disrupting and dismantling drug trafficking operations.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Wayne A. Myers prosecuted the case, bringing Guzman to justice for his crimes.
