Ryan Moore-Daniels, 37, Indicted on Cocaine Possession and Gun Violation
A Pittsburgh man has been indicted on charges of cocaine possession and gun violation, according to a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh.
Ryan Moore-Daniels, 37, of Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood, was named as the sole defendant in a two-count indictment presented to the court.
According to the indictment, on December 9, 2021, Moore-Daniels did knowingly, intentionally, and unlawfully possess with intent to distribute a quantity of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Additionally, on the same date, Moore-Daniels knowingly possessed a firearm, in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime for which he may be prosecuted.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of 25 years in prison, a fine of $1,250,000, or both.
Assistant United States Attorney Katherine C. Jordan is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The investigation leading to the indictment was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Internal Revenue Service, City of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Pennsylvania State Police, New Castle Police Department, Allegheny County Police Department, Robinson Township Police Department, and Monessen Police Department.
This prosecution is a result of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation, which uses a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach to dismantle high-level drug traffickers and money launderers.
An indictment is an accusation, and Moore-Daniels is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
