Darren M. Warner, also known as “Krazy,” a 54-year-old man from Bellevue, Wisconsin, has been indicted on federal methamphetamine charges. The 54-year-old now stares down a decade behind bars after a federal grand jury returned the indictment on January 4, 2017, charging him with possession of actual methamphetamine, known as “Ice,” with intent to distribute.
The charge falls under Title 21, United States Code, Sections 841(a) and 841(b)(1)(A). If convicted, Warner faces a mandatory minimum of ten years in prison and could be sentenced to life. Additional penalties include a staggering $10,000,000 fine and a supervised release term ranging from five years to the rest of his life.
This case emerged from a coordinated investigation led by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the Wisconsin State Patrol, and the Brown County Drug Task Force. That task force includes investigators from the Brown County Sheriff’s Department, Green Bay Police Department, Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department, and the De Pere Police Department—agencies that have collectively tightened the vise on meth distribution in northeastern Wisconsin.
Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble will prosecute the case, pushing for maximum consequences under federal law. The indictment marks the latest salvo in an ongoing crackdown on hard drug trafficking in the region, where methamphetamine continues to fuel violent crime, property theft, and public health emergencies.
Despite the severity of the charges, the Justice Department reminds the public that an indictment is not a conviction. Warner is presumed innocent until proven guilty. He is entitled to a fair trial, at which the government must prove his guilt beyond a reasonable doubt—a burden not to be taken lightly, even in the face of federal firepower.
