New Hampshire Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Child Pornography

In a disturbing case that highlights the dark underbelly of the internet, 26-year-old Isaiah Lafoe of Lancaster, New Hampshire, has been sentenced to 180 months (15 years) in federal prison for receiving child pornography.

Lafoe’s downward spiral began in 2020 when he started communicating with a 13-year-old girl in Troy, New York, via social media applications. Over the course of several months, he coerced her into sending him explicit images and videos, which he received on his cell phone.

According to court documents, Lafoe’s actions were a clear violation of the law and a grave injustice to the young victim. His guilty plea was a significant step towards accountability, but the severity of his sentence serves as a reminder that child exploitation will not be tolerated in our society.

The FBI Child Exploitation Task Force, comprising FBI Special Agents and state and local police investigators, led the investigation into Lafoe’s activities. The Troy Police Department and the New York State Police also provided critical assistance in bringing the case to a close.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexander Wentworth-Ping prosecuted the case as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child exploitation and abuse. Lafoe’s sentence includes a 25-year term of post-imprisonment supervised release and a $3,000 restitution order to the victim. He will also be required to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison.

Lafoe’s case is a stark reminder of the importance of online safety and the need for vigilance in protecting our children from predators. As we continue to navigate the complexities of the digital age, it is imperative that we prioritize the well-being and safety of our youth.

The Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood has been a crucial tool in the fight against child exploitation, and we commend the efforts of law enforcement agencies and prosecutors who work tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice.
