ALBANY, NEW YORK – Authorities have indicted a local man for his involvement in some of the most heinous crimes imaginable – child pornography.
30-year-old Stephen Brisee, also known as Sage Brisee, of Albany, was hit with a federal indictment earlier this week for distributing, receiving, and possessing child pornography. The disturbing allegations detail how Brisee shared videos showing adults engaging in sex acts with girls as young as infants.
The charges against Brisee are a stark reminder of the darker side of human nature, and the importance of vigilance in keeping our communities safe. According to the US Attorney’s Office, the indictment alleges that Brisee distributed these vile videos, which is a clear violation of the law.
United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and Matthew Scarpino, Special Agent in Charge of the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Buffalo, New York Field Office, made the announcement, underscoring the gravity of the situation. The indictment is the result of a thorough investigation by HSI, which has been working tirelessly to bring perpetrators like Brisee to justice.
Brisee is facing serious charges, and if convicted, he faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 40 years in prison. He could also be fined up to $250,000 and required to pay restitution to victims. Additionally, Brisee may be ordered to forfeit the devices used to commit the crimes and register as a sex offender upon release from prison.
The case is being prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating child exploitation and abuse. Launched in 2006, the program has helped to rescue countless victims and bring perpetrators to justice. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan S. Reiner is leading the prosecution.
Brisee has been ordered detained pending trial, a clear indication of the seriousness with which the authorities are taking this case. The indictment serves as a warning to those who would engage in such heinous crimes – the consequences are severe and the law will not hesitate to bring you to justice.
The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. Together, we can create a safer community for all.
