Zakary Faccio, Fentanyl Trafficking, Wyoming 2024

⏱ 2 min read

Zakary Faccio, a 35-year-old from Chandler, Arizona, was sentenced to 67 months in prison for conspiring to distribute heroin and fentanyl in Wyoming. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Scott W. Skavdahl on May 5. Faccio’s crime involved using the U.S. Postal Service to send a package containing 98 grams of fentanyl and 23.4 grams of heroin to a major distributor in Worland, Wyoming, in July 2024.

The investigation, which was launched by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, identified Faccio as the supplier of the deadly drugs. After the intended recipient, Micah Maas, was arrested on January 15, 2025, investigators discovered that he had sent $2,000 to Faccio to mail the suspected drugs.

Surveillance footage from the Mesa, Arizona post office confirmed that Faccio was the individual who shipped the package. Faccio was arrested on September 24, 2025, and was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Office Service.

The sentence sends a clear message to those who traffic fentanyl and heroin into Wyoming: they will be prosecuted and sent to prison. U.S. Attorney Darin Smith and Inspector in Charge Bryan Musgrove of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service emphasized the importance of working together to stop the flow of narcotics in Wyoming.
